PREVIEW: Cultivating Christian Friendship

Pastor Jason Schockman previews the upcoming presentation at Reformation Tap Society, "Bonfires, Brews, and Board Games: Cultivating Christian Friendship," which occurs at 5:30 p.m @ BrewFinity in Oconomowoc. That presentation will be recorded, edited, and posted by Friday, 23 February 2024. Thank you for listening.

[00:00.000 --> 00:29.960] Welcome to Christ in All Things, a conversation about meaning and purpose. It's based on a verse from the Bible, Colossians chapter 1 verse 17 which says, Christ is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Christ in all things is a listening ear into conversations about receiving and giving, the love and hope. [00:30.000 --> 00:45.000] We hope of Christ. These conversations are an invitation because as much as you'll hear, and as much as we enjoy having them, digital media operates from a distance. And that's not what's best for us, with God or with one another. [00:45.000 --> 01:06.000] So, thanks for listening. And if you're in the neighborhood, we invite you to participate in person in the life that finds its epicenter at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 210 East Pleasant Street in O'Conwalk, Wisconsin. [01:06.000 --> 01:22.000] Greetings listeners. This is Pastor Jason Schockman here at Christ in All Things. With a bit of an announcement, we actually don't have an episode to launch tonight to share with you. [01:22.000 --> 01:43.000] But we're giving you this little bit of a preview because Sunday night, February 18th at Roofingity at 5 o'clock, my best friend in the world, Mark Treadrai and I, are going to be presenting at Reformation Tap Society about friendship, about our friendship, [01:43.000 --> 01:56.000] about our friendship in Christ, that has been built over the years from bonfires to brews to board games and how we've built and sustained that Christian friendship. [01:56.000 --> 02:12.000] How did it start? How did we move into friendship and how have we kept it going, part of our task to present to you? And along the way, we're going to be sharing the wisdom of the Word of God that has really framed the brothers. [02:12.000 --> 02:25.000] The brotherhood that we share. We'll leave you with some tidbits from the Scriptures as well, things to do and things to avoid when it comes to maintaining Christian friendships. [02:25.000 --> 02:31.000] We look forward to sharing some of our story with you, the listeners at Christ in All Things. [02:31.000 --> 02:41.000] We're going to take that presentation which happens at Reformation Tap Society and boil it down to a couple of episodes that we'll launch later this week. [02:41.000 --> 02:51.000] So keep your eye out as Reformation Tap Society comes to Christ in All Things as we talk about Christian friendship. [02:51.000 --> 03:05.000] Dear listener, I pray that you are richly blessed in Christ who is our dearest and truest friend that has reconciled us to God and allowed us to be reconciled to one another. [03:12.000 --> 03:22.000] For show notes and other information about Christ in All Things, visit ChristInAllThings.org.
